History

ACSuper is an employer sponsored superannuation fund providing superannuation, investment and insurance services to employers and their staff. Whilst open to all employers, the Fund specialises in assisting those within the church and charitable sector.

Established in 1994, the Fund was initially formed by the Assemblies of God church to assist its churches and ministers in the provision of retirement benefits. This mandate has now been broadened and the Fund’s membership has grown to approximately 900 employers and 4,000 members around Australia.

Investments and Investment Consultants

Investments & Investment Managers

ACSuper has a combination of direct and managed investments. The Fund’s direct investments include Direct Property, Cash and Fixed Interest, and Securities. Details of current Investment Managers are given on page 15 of the Member Booklet - PDS.

The Fund has appointed Australian Christian Services Pty Ltd to actively manage its investment policies and mandates.

Ethical Options and Christian Value Bias

As a Christian based fund, ACSuper has a strong emphasis on investing in line with Christian values and standards. See ACSuper Ethical Investment Policy on page 21 of the Member Booklet - PDS.

Whilst we do not currently enforce ethical screening on all of our investments, the Fund does encourage members to make the most of our ethical options and provides free advice (via Australian Christian Services AFSL 247388), for those who wish to tailor their investment to be more actively and ethically focused.

In addition to providing members with ethical options and screening within the Australian and International Shares asset classes, the Fund also invests directly and uses its influence as a large investor to make a difference in other ways, including actively seeking private equity investments in Health and Aged Care sectors.

ACSuper is a member of the Responsible Investment Association Australasia, (www.responsibleinvestment.org).
