A member suffers from a sickness which:

(a)        A medical practitioner, specialising in the member's illness, certifies in writing will despite reasonable medical treatment lead to the member's death within 12 months of the date of the certification; and

(b)        We are satisfied, on medical or other evidence, will despite reasonable medical treatment lead to the member's death within 12 months of the date of the certification referred to in paragraph (a).

The illness from which the member suffers must occur, and the date of the certification referred to in paragraph (a) must be made while the member is covered under this policy and must be current at the time the claim is lodged.
